Reporting at St Mary MacKillop

Reporting is a process of communicating information about your child's demonstration of academic , personal, religious and social learning outcomes.

Reporting to parents/carers formally happens four times a year and will include:

Term 1 and 3 – Parent Teacher Conversations

  • a parent/carer conversation with the child's teacher and sharing of the portfolio of written assessment and work examples that demonstrate the levels achieved.  (Term 1 PT Conversations are conducted for all students. Term 3 PT Conversations are conducted at the request of either the parents or the teacher)

Term 2 and 4 –Written communication

  • a written summative report outlining achievement in each subject area and an overview of social skills and work habits
  • a portfolio of written assessment and work examples that demonstrate the outcomes achieved.

At any other time, either the parent or the teacher may request an interview.

The Written Report is:

  • a SUMMARY of assessment tasks your child has demonstrated throughout the year.
  • the evidence for the report will be found in the student's portfolio.
