What We Wear

School Uniform

The School Uniform is to be worn at all times and a note is required if a child is temporarily unable to wear any part of the uniform.  Parents will be advised at the beginning of each school year as to which day/s your child is to wear their sports uniform.

All items are to be clearly marked with the child’s name.  Please ensure that it is a proper iron-on or sew-on name tag.  Names that are written with marker pen on the collar or tag soon wash off or fade with time.

All uniform items are available from our Uniform Shop located on school grounds.  For more information on purchasing uniforms please click on this Uniform Shop Information link.

If your child is commencing Prep, download the Prep Uniform Package.  This form is designed for St Mary MacKillop Prep students only and outlines uniform requirements for your child.

Useful Uniform Information

Tartan Culottes & Dress

Either option can be worn by the girls at Mary MacKillop from Grades 1 - 6.  For your information: the older year girls usually wear the tartan culottes with the unisex dress shirt.  However, this is only a guide as your child can choose to wear either garment.

Winter Uniform

Winter zippered jackets, fleecy zippered jackets and track pants are available.

School Shoes

Black leather school shoes / joggers are a compulsory part of the school uniform.  Black canvas volley shoes are not considered standard uniform.  Shoes are to be purchased from own source as they are not available to purchase from the Uniform Shop.

Athletes Foot at Capalaba & Carindale MMK Sponsorship Program

Athletes Foot have a sponsorship program in which the school will receive $5 for every pair of footwear purchased at either of the stores for MMK students and their families.  Both shops have a database in which customers are added upon the purchase of shoes.  Please advise staff you are from MMK and your name and subsequent purchases within that family are recorded on the database.  In turn MMK will receive vouchers or sporting equipment to be utilised at school.  This is a great opportunity for all our families.

If you are thinking of purchasing shoes for sport or school – think Athletes Foot @ Capalaba & Carindale.

For more information visit Athletes Foot Capalaba or Carindale where they will fit your child into the right pair of shoes.  An information leaflet is available for download via the links above.

Socks White

Please ensure your child wears plain white socks that cover the ankle.  These items are available at the Uniform Shop or can be purchased from your own source. Anklet or other short style are not accepted.

School Bags

The St Mary MacKillop school bag is a compulsory part of the uniform.

There are two (2) sizes available – small & large.  Parents are to choose appropriate size for their child.  Small is usually recommended for Prep – 3.

We also have a trolley bag available for Year 4 and up to complement our 1-1 laptop program.

Library Bag

All children are required to have a water proof bag when borrowing books from the Library.  It is considered compulsory for Grades P-4 to use the St Mary MacKillop library bag.  Grades 5-6 can use either the school library bag or homework satchel.

There are 2 styles to choose from: i) broad brim ii) bucket hat – reversible (one side bottle green with school logo / reverse side shows sports house colour & name as shown below).

It is up to each individual to choose a style that suits them.  All styles are worn by all grades.  All bucket hats are the same price..
